JOB OPENING: Richmond UMC, located in the Ohio Valley District, has an upcoming opening for a Team Leadership position as Director of Discipleship. This is a part time (20 hours per week), salaried position.
The primary responsibilities of this position include: Working with the Senior Pastor and Launch Team of a NEW mid-week worship/discipleship experience. The purpose of “Counted” is building relationships and reconnecting with un-churched, de-churched and never churched people in our community. Other responsibilities include resourcing and mentoring laity for leadership and discipleship in alignment with RUMC’s Purpose Statement: Reaching, Teaching & Serving in Christ’s Name and the UMC Mission statement: Making and maturing disciples for the transformation of the world.
Position Requirements: Christian character & commitment in daily life. The ability to articulate a personal journey in faith. A heart to mentor unbelievers & grow believers in their personal path of discipleship. A college degree in a related field or comparable experience.

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Elementary and youth Sunday school time will start at 10:30 a.m. The elementary children will be dismissed to Sunday school immediately following Children’s Chat. We will be working on ways to optimize our time with the children to incorporate their own worship time during Sunday school.
